Honda Siel India Ltd has just launched the 8th generation Accord in three variants the Accord 2.4, Accord 2.4 Elegance and the Accord 2.4 Inspire. This D segmenter is priced from Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) to Rs 18.14 lakh for the highest spec variant. There is no V6 yet, Diesel(Read more here) will follow at a later stage. The 2.4 engine produces 180PS of power at 6500RPM and a rather tame maximum torque of 222NM at a rather delayed 6500RPM. It has a 70L tank(hint, hint it might just guzzle fuel, but Honda claims 8% increase in FE) It also has glass antenna which i think the previous generation did too, but honestly glass antenna doesnot work as well, specially in the rains when you turn the demister on. But whats interesting is Honda has given it side curtain airbags(found in the Laura), dual zone climate control and 8 way power driver seats. The Automatic is said to have paddle shifters on the steering (a first for the segment) This car will surely take the fight to the Camry and i dont see why. Test drive report soon, stay tuned.
